Newport Rising Festival
Events over the upcoming Newport Rising Festival weekend (1-3 November) including the torch lit march, Patrick Jones' 'Renegade Psalms', music workshops and celebrations at the Westgate Hotel. There are also events at the Riverfront, Tredegar House, Gwent Archives and the Senedd over the weeks surrounding the festival, making the 180th anniversary celebrations something really special

1) 6.00 pm Sunday 4 November: Annual Laying of Flowers at the Chartist Memorial , St Woolos Cathedral.
2) 6.30 Tuesday 5th November, Les James will be talking about 'The arrest and trial of Zephaniah Williams - Chartist and coal entrepreneur'
Venue: Shire Hall, Monmouth with senior pupils of Ysgol Gyfun Trefynwy (Monmouth Compehensive School) and the Monmouth School for Boys.
